The Department of Engineering Education’s Inclusion, Culture, and Diversity Committee invites you to join us for our first workshop of the 2018-2019 academic year, Building Effective Teams: Creating Authentic and Inclusive Spaces of Dialogue in the Classroom and Beyond.

This workshop focuses on creating spaces for authentic dialogue.  Effective teams must address potential power imbalances to succeed.  Particular attention will be paid to understanding one’s own social identities (gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, socioeconomic status, religion/spirituality, language and nationality) and how these identities impact one’s experiences. This workshop offers specific strategies as well as experiential activities for creating more inclusive teams through dialogue. The core focus is on valuing difference, diversity and inclusion to examine current structural, systemic and cultural imbalances.

Please let us know if you plan to attend here.
