Biography

Denzel Caldwell is a PhD student and is a member of the JEEDI team with Dr. Ann Christy. Denzel comes to The Ohio State University after spending 10 years as a professional engineering consultant. He is currently licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the states of Texas and Colorado. Prior to working as an engineer, Denzel earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in May 2013. Afterwards, he landed a role as a structural bridge engineer where he simultaneously decided to pursue his M.B.A. which he earned in December 2015 from Texas A&M University at Commerce. Denzel currently is working on a Master’s in Civil Engineering with a structural focus and has started the journey to earning his PhD from Ohio State University.

Denzel’s research interests include organizational psychology, public policy, and the impacts of diversity, equity, and inclusion on Black industry professionals in STEM.

In his free time, Denzel enjoys traveling the globe, training for his next marathon, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
