EPICS in IEEE Project: Urban Gardens

Posted:

Dr. David Delaine, Assistant Professor in Engineering Education, and Dr. Chris Ratcliff, Lecturer in Engineering Education, have built a reciprocal partnership across multiple years with the Nabrit Family and the Charles Madison Nabrit Memorial Garden located in Columbus, Ohio. This climate-resilient garden features a variety of fresh produce grown to feed the local community. The garden also provides and community-based STEM education opportunities to local K12 students while educating OSU undergraduate and graduate engineering students. Watch the video to hear from Dr. Delaine and others about this incredible project! PhD student in Engineering Education, Brenden Drinkard-McFarland, is also featured.

This effort has received funding from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
