Dr. Lisa Abrams is Named OSPE Outstanding Engineering Educator

Lisa Abrams, Ph.D., P.E., has earned the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) Outstanding Engineering Educator Award. This award was given to Dr. Abrams in recognition of her teaching and professional expertise, service to promoting excellence in engineering education and dedication to the students.

Dr. Abrams has been with The Ohio State University since 2008, beginning as an assistant professor of practice in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Now, as the professor of practice and an associate chair in the newly formed Department of Engineering Education, Dr. Abrams teaches classes, oversees curriculum and serves on a number of committ ees. She is known to be well respected by her students and she is often sought out as a mentor.

OSPE, a state affiliate of the National Society of Professional Engineers, was established in 1878 to promote the ethical conduct of practicing professional engineers, high standards for engineering education and to advance public safety and welfare. OSPE represents all disciplines and interest groups of the engineering profession: industry, private practice, government, construction and education.
