ACADEMY: Alison Polasik finds purpose and joy in educating the next generation of engineers, and has worked for the past 12 years at institutions that could not be more different from each other. She is currently an Associate Professor at Campbell University, which is a small, private, liberal arts, religious-affiliated, undergraduate-only university with a relatively new School of Engineering. Before this position, she was an Assistant Professor of Practice (Teaching) in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University. She will discuss projects that cover her transition from Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to Engineering Education Research, and how to find balance between the three pillars of academia.
