[CANCELLED] Fundamentals of Engineering for Honors Robot Competition

Enjoy engineering, fun and robots during the 26th annual FEH Robot Competition

First-year engineering students will showcase their cornerstone design projects in the Fundamentals of Engineering for Honors Program (FEH) robot competition at Ohio State’s Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC). The university community and public are invited to watch student teams demonstrate how they designed their robots to meet the design competition specifications.

[A student prepares her robot to compete.] 2019 robot competitionThe competition requires each team of three to four students to design, build and program an autonomous robot using creativity and engineering principles to complete specified tasks on a course designed and built by the program’s teaching assistants. Each year has a different course and theme to give each class of students a unique experience in applying their knowledge and skills to a simulated real-world situation. The 2020 competition challenges 70 robot teams to handle simple restaurant tasks so that humans can focus on interacting with customers.

Round robin matches begin at noon. The single-elimination tournament of the competition will start at 4:00 p.m. Parking is available at the Neil Avenue Parking Garage or the Tuttle Park Place Parking Garage at an hourly rate.

Through the generosity of corporate sponsors, many of whom provide judges in addition to financial support, teams are recognized with small scholarships for their achievements in a variety of areas: Consistency, Head-to-Head Performance, Innovation, Engineering, Aesthetics, Documentation, and Gracious Professionalism.
